Being a Full Time Investor

Should you be a full time investor?

If let's say you want to make money from dividends. With an average yield of 2% on the S&P 500 $SPX500 , you would need to to invest $2.5 million to make $50 K a year. This is hard to do, especially if you have just started. You can buy and sell stocks. The average returns of the market is 10%. Let's say you're better than the market, you can make 15%. You will need about $333k invested to make $50 K a year. Living from your investments alone is nearly impossible unless you have a big portfolio. That's why, it is recommended that you invest for the long-term for a retirement portfolio.

My main income as a full time investor is being an Elite Popular Investor on eToro and from Teachable. It is only after 5 years of investing that I'm making a comfortable amount of money even though I have been a full time investor for the past 3 years.

If you want to be a full time investor, you will need to be an entrepreneur and you will need the entrepreneur-gene with a high-risk tolerance. Full time investors make money from their investing business, whether on eToro or as a hedgefund. Hedgefund managers usually take a 2% management fee from their clients.
