My 2020 GOALS 🎯
The last week of 2019 starts pretty calm with the $SPX500 about the same price as last Friday's close. As for our portfolio, we open about 0.1% down with Skyworks Solutions $SWKS and Polymetal $POLY.L down by 0.5% each. With Oil prices $OIL now above the $62 mark, our two oil stocks Parsley Energy $PE and Concho Resources $CXO are up by 0.4% and 1.0% respectively.
My last video of the year is about my goals (mostly financial) for 2020.
My 2020 GOALS 🎯
Last week, I reached the 1000 subscribers milestone on YouTube and of course, the first goal for 2020 will be to reach 10 000 subscribers. Socialblade is predicting that I'll have 7 000 subscribers by the end of 2020 but of course, I want to prove them wrong once again. I already proved them wrong by reaching 1000 subscribers, something they were initially forecasting will happen in April 2020. What's more important are not goals but plans. In 2019, I failed to achieve most of my goals and that's because I didn't have good plans. How am I going to reach 10000 subscribers by the end of 2020? By working on quality. In 2019, I was making one video a day, focusing on quantity. Since September, I've been making only 3 videos a week and my channel took off. I got over 270 subscribers in December alone while I had to wait 7 months to get the first 100 subscribers.
Second goal is to make a better investment in myself by reading at least 50 books. This year, I read only 30 books. I want to read mostly books about investing such as Security Analysis of Benjamin Graham, Margin of Safety by Seth Klarman as these books will help me become a better investor and also provide me with the information I need to eventually write my own book about investing.
Third goal is to have my course about stock investing for beginners ready by April 2020. There's demand for it and there's no real good courses about investing. You can either watch a course which will only tell you how to look at PE ratio to invest or go to a fancy university to learn about theories which don't work in real life. By the way, part of the course is already available for free on my research partnership.
As far as my investments are concerned, I want my portfolio to reach $20 000. As a Popular Investor on eToro, I aim to become an Elite Popular Investor. How I intend to do that? By letting my results speak for themselves. As long as I make good investments, my portfolio and the portfolio of my copiers will grow.
For personal goals, I want to have an emergency fund of $6000. Last year, I invested my emergency fund when the market was crashing. There are four level in a financial life: survival, security, success, significance. In 2020, my goal is to go from survival to security. This includes having health insurance. When I reach the security level, I can start a travel fund so that I can restart traveling.
